Final Designs for T-shirts and Bags

As with the designs in my research I've tried to make the typography follow the curves of the drawings. I've also tried to use appropriate fonts for each type of drawing.

The type runs horizontally and vertically in some areas, and I've chosen fonts which mirror the shapes in the illustrations in some way.

The violins have a lot of curves and so the font reflects this

In contrast I've used a very simple simple sans serif font in the guitars, with varying scales but still following the contours. I've also used white out of black to create negative space.

I've used a hand written font in "piano" still involving the typography with the curves of the drawing and as with the others the quotation marks are in negative

I've used a stronger font with this Illustration, as with the Foo Fighters detailed drawing in my Research. This is because there is so much detail the words could easily be lost, you can see through the actual letters within the blocks so as to continue the drawing through the typography. I've also played with scale and followed the contours of the drawing.

The final design is a traced image and I've used a retro font with many curves to reflect the curves of the image. I've manipulated the text in Illustrator to fit the image snuggly. The text runs backwards in some cases and I also turned some letters sideways to fit the space.

Research for T-shirt Designs centred around music and typography

The following are images which combine Art/Illustrations with typography which is particularly relevant to the ideas which I have about designing a t-shirt. I want to use existing illustrations which I've made and combine it with relevant typography. 

The images below combines a seri font with a loose script font, the type follow the lines and angles within the Illustration rather than just reading left to right horizontally.

Again this image shows that the font varies from pointed and jagged edges to script like within the guitar and follows the shape of the illustration. The typography appears to be hand drawn in keeping with the drawing

This Illustration is very intricate, the artist has left a space in the centre, so the type is centred and is plain, clear and serifed to contrast and stand out against all the detail.

 The images below give examples of how the typography can vary in point size to give contrast and follow the contours of the image. The fonts are relaxed, scripted and flow as if to describe how music, especially jazz can flow.

 This one even has text running vertically following the double base but always staying within the picture frame and never running off.
